Being a “Yogi” can often means to fit into a certain “practice”, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Bikram, etc. We can gain so much more if we can shift our focus to ourselves, our structures, our restrictions, and begin to cultivate an awareness of our body and learn to connect with it first to fit the practice to our bodies rather than striving for the practice before considering our bodies. There’s a time and place for a full exploration of yoga but yoga is really a journey to ourselves. It’s important to have a strong foundation on anatomy and alignment to refine and elevate our practice.
